As mentioned earlier: I used to be a houseplant bully. I really had no love for the idea of keeping plants inside and many family plant ended up dying in the bitter cold. Plants and cats: my two great hates of the past. Seems that the key to a good house full of plants is windows. And lots of them. Must keep that in mind if I ever have to move again.

Wrapping up a handdyed pillow to send off to it’s new owner. This dip-dye in pinks and blues reminds me of cottoncandy. Or candyfloss, as I’m sure my boyfriend would prefer me to say.

I used to bother my mom about her houseplants all the time, by telling her that plants should only live outside, to the point where she actually got rid of the 3 plants we had. But now I’m thinking that maybe she just didn’t have ENOUGH plants around the house. I want an inside garden asap*. (And old sheets and tablecloths instead of curtains, but that’s a given.)

*except that my fig plant has grown about 5 times it’s size in these last wet weeks outside and would probably go back to being it’s sad old self if I dragged it back inside to start my own hanging gardens of Babylon.. and the bucket of still standing rain water is housing what seem to be mutant tadpoles growing at a rapid speed. Hmm.. I hope that my cat doesn’t drink them.
